There’s got to be something else we can do. Ranell had wandered into the airships galley as they took a break from their meeting. He poked around in the cupboards looking for a coffee cup. He couldn't help but be impressed. This is well-designed. I bet I could cook just about anything with a setup like this.
His cellphone rang. Even on a break it doesn’t let up, he sighed. He was so tired. What is it now?
It was his wife. Her words were stained, sentences clipped.
"What?" Ranell asked for clarification as he roughly set his coffee cup down. It clattered across the galley countertop as his shaking hands released it. “Did you just say you’re serving me papers?”
It was a terse phone call. His wife told him that she was filing for divorce and that the papers would be served at his office. She was keeping the house. Don’t bother to come home. He didn’t live there anymore.
