Republicans Give Up
“Months and months of watching Donald Trump offend every segment of American society is what ultimately led to his defeat,” the ‘Talking Head’ pronounced with an air of unquestionable authority. “This election was his to lose, and that’s exactly what happened. Because Trump is a loser. At the end of the day, his bullying, racism, sexism, and dictatorial xenophobia didn’t sway the American people, and they chose four more years of President Biden.”
That was the official line, which was echoed in nearly every news station on Earth.
“I can’t believe this!” Juan complained bitterly. “They literally predicted what would happen. Even the exact numbers! And now that they stole it, nobody’s doing nothing about it!”
Juan’s boss, Richard, was in the passenger seat of Juan’s pickup. He’d had too much to drink, and Juan was driving him home. “They just stole it right in front of our eyes,” he agreed. “We’ve lost the nation.”
“But why?” Juan shouted. He switched on his turn signal and pulled onto Richard’s street. “Why won’t they fight?”
“Who are they? Nobody’s going to fight for us.” Richard hung his head morosely. “The Democrats own the media, the courts, the FBI and CIA, everything…”
“It’s not right,” Juan pounded his steering wheel. “Somebody should do something!”
