Juan Torres came to the United States illegally more than twenty years ago. He’s settled into an established Phoenix community, surrounded by many members of his extended family.
Nevertheless, migrants continue to arrive. This chapter seeks to explore his nuanced and mixed reactions to this dynamic after Juan encounters a group of homeless South American migrants that have been sleeping in his alley.
